If anyone knows of an artist who might be interested in doing a short webcomic (Say a total of 20-25 pages), I'm trying to find someone.

While the pay is quite obviously a chance to get your work noticed (I am unemployed and pretty well living off my scholarship money so I am definitely unable to fork over even a small amount of cash - besides I'm going to be getting married and most of my money is saving for that.), the perks are that time is less of a factor (I am a busy PhD Student and writing a webcomic script is A) Something *I'VE* never done before and B) A secondary project of my own.)

So while we are both going to have to make a commitment, the time frame is negotiable and at both of our discretion.

The artist is going to have to be reasonably competant at drawing all sorts of ages, races, weights and heights, so if your specialty is anime-style bishounen or women with monsterous tits, this is probably not the project you're looking for.

The plot is essentially urban fantasy.

To give you an idea of what's going to be expected in terms of art style, here is a rundown of the characters. All of these characters belong to and are copyright myself.)Please do not use them or claim them as your own.

Darren Smith:

The new resident on Avongate Crescent, Portland Oregon. Darren stands a literal head and shoulders above the crowd at a whopping 7'2". Apparently just moved to the United States from King's Lynn, England and apparently having previously worked improving and testing the computer security systems at Santander Bank, Darren was welcomed into his new neighbourhood in spite of some initial suspicion by the mostly family-orientated neighbourhood. Warm and genuinely friendly, Darren seems to find it easy to integrate and make friends well, is a whiz at his job but no one  seems to really know him intimately and personally. Maybe there's a good reason for that...

Darren is as mentioned, exceptionally tall, somewhere between the ages of 35-40 but it's difficult to tell, considering that he is very attractive to the point of being 'pretty'. Most people believe he's a middle-aged man going through a severe midlife crisis, as he wears his hair long and in spines, has this face that looks as though he's gotten a massive amount of plastic surgery done but is somewhat heavyset and prone to wearing sweater vests and khakis. He looks a bit like a plump hedgehog if nothing else.

Daria Melbourne:

A schoolteacher at the local elementary/middle school. She teaches Grade 2 home form Daria claims to be 'from Canada' but seems to know very little about her country of origin. Thourough background checks do proove beyond a doubt that she used to live in Medicine Hat Alberta. She does however seem to have a certain way with Children and most of them seem to like her. She does not seem to like Darren very much nor unusually does she seem to like him.

Daria is a bigger boned and curvy sort of woman who seems to be in her late 20ies. She always seems to be wearing leggings and oversize, cowl-neck sweaters that sit off the shoulders, which seem to have some kind of burn scars on them from behind allegedly from a classroom accident. She seems to wear heavy makeup and chunky jewelry with ballet flat walking shoes, all of which seem appropriate for the classroom. She has a heart-shaped face, a lot of over-hairsprayed blonde curls to her shoulders and has long painted nails.

(You know the type of teacher I'm talking about. Everyone's had at least one who had the witch nails and enough hairspray to kill pigeons in the park.)

Andrew Abdul, Maria and David Abdul Karheem:

Andrew Abdul is a third-generation Guam-American. He's Darren's across-the-street neighbour and boss prior to his going missing, owning his own software development firm. His wife is Maria and their son David was one of the first people to discover Darren's secret. David is sworn to secrecy, even from his mother and father. Maria works at the local library and teaches a pottery class at the adult learning centre. David is fourteen years old attends the local middle school and enjoys playing world of warcraft.

Andrew stands at about 5'11" and has very dark skin, a wide nose and gorgeous eyes. He keeps his hair very short and close to his head, but not shaved or buzzed. He goes to the gym weekly and while you couldn't call his physique 'ripped' his arms and stomach are well-defined. He's fairly casual about his dress code at work except when he has important clients coming in, so he's either in a nice suit or just a button down and pair of nice slacks.

(I actually based his looks very heavily off a good friend of mine so I could even give a reference.)

Maria is also black but quite short, with much lighter skin than her husband and with more delicate facial features. She has heterochromia - one of her eyes is a light blue. (Or just 'lighter' since I doubt we'll get to colour). She wears a weave in her hair so that it is straight and past shoulder length She is, at the time of the story pregnant with her second child and so wears maternity clothing. She's not far enough along that she's slowed down from working her two jobs and has not simply let herself go because of her family, so she like her husband is in reasonably good physical condition.

David is their son and he has inherited his father's skin and hair and his mother's facial features. He's your typical skinny, incredible lucky metabolism 14 year old kid. He's very excitable and animated with his body language. He wears jeans and t-shirts as long as he can get away with it.

Harold, Anita and Katie King:

Next-door neighbours to the Karheem family, Katie King is David's best friend at school. Their family are third-generation American of the European-mutt variety. His wife Anita is an accountant, Harold is an electrician and a former University wrestlng champ. Katie is fourteen years old, attends the local middle school and like David knows Darren's secret and is also sworn to secrecy. She is less taken with video games than David but also seems to have a crush on Darren.

Harold King is about 5'9", a beefy guy but not the gym-going type as is his neighbour. He's on the heavier side, balding with red hair and green eyes. He used to be a wrestling champ (varsity, not professional) and it still does show in his physique. He's kind of a jeans and tshirt kind of guy though the t-shirt gets substituted for a polo with his company logo on it when he's on the job.

Anita is a snappy business suit kind of woman. She's ULTRA skinny, seems to subsist on coffee alone, heels, barely any chest, perfectly updone dirty-blonde hair, brown eyes, spray-on tan and makeup probably 24-7. She likely wears heels to the beach.

Katie has strawberry blonde hair and brown eyes, and currently is taller than David, also in posession of the enviable fourteen year old metabolism, though she has just acquired her first training bra. While she would love to wear jeans and T-shirts like her friend, she generally winds up in cute skirt and sweater set combos picked out by her mother, little plastic flowery headbands and mary jane shoes.

The Johansons, The Agnews, The Melindas:

Three other families who share Avongate Crescent with Darren, the Karheems and the Kings. The Johansons have a seventeen year old in her final year at the high school. Her name is Veronica (Ronnie) and she sometimes babysits David and Katie. The Agnews are expecting twins and the Melindas have a son attending a school for gifted children while their daughter is attending the local high school, starting grade 9.

Charity Evans:

Someone whom Darren is often heard speaking to.

Akiko (Smith?):

Apparently Darren's deceased wife. He seems to have no photographs of her around the house, though it is assumed that since her name is Akiko, she is of Asian decent.

Cypher D:

A world-reknowned hacker and Online gaming legendary figure. Unusually has done nothing malicious but has broken

into secret service agencies and large corporate websites around the world several times over. Investigative

reports have found several people using that alias in various places either in tribute or failed emulation attacks.
